Meet our Team
Gabby Raven
Founder
Gabby grew up in her family’s restaurant, Gentry’s, in upstate New York — a place where her grandmother greeted guests like old friends, her father gave everyone a hard time behind the bar, and her grandfather washed dishes in the kitchen. That early immersion sparked a lifelong love for hospitality, paired with a passion for food that began in her own kitchen, learning to cook from her mother and her Cajun roots.
Gabby went on to earn a Hospitality Management degree from UCF and rose quickly through leadership roles; managing Orlando’s Citrus Club at age 20, to opening Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, to launching Oak Steakhouse and O-Ku in Nashville with The Indigo Road Hospitality Group. As Regional Director of Operations, she oversaw six restaurants between Nashville and Charlotte.
With Basket Case, opening in her own Salemtown neighborhood, Gabby is bringing it all full circle, building the kind of place where neighbors instantly feel at home. A warm, familiar spot in a city where small, local businesses are becoming rare, and something the community is genuinely hungry for.

Charlie
Director of Treats
Charlie takes his role as Director of Treats very seriously, although some might say he’s just in it for the snacks. A seasoned professional in quality control, Charlie’s responsibilities include greeting guests with a wag, monitoring floor crumbs, and ensuring all treats meet his exact (and frequent) taste-test standards.
When he’s not on duty at Basket Case, you’ll find him socializing at Morgan Park, napping next to the AC vent, or lobbying for more cheese varieties on the menu.
